Time & Location
09 Oct 2019, 7:00 am – 8:30 am
The University Club of Western Australia, Entrance 1, Hackett Dr, Crawley WA 6009, Australia
About the Event
About half of all Western Australian's will have mental health problems at some time, and about 3% will have issues that require significant care and support. Each person’s experience of mental health is unique and can change over time, and their mental health issues will affect those who care for and support them. Providing care that best matches each person’s needs and circumstances is complex and difficult.
To recognise national mental health week, the Rotary Club of Crawley and Australian Rotary Health invite you to join us for a breakfast with the Western Australian Auditor General, Caroline Spencer. Â Ms Caroline Spencer will be presenting findings from her Office's August 2019 performance audit on Access to State-Managed Mental Health Services, which assessed whether West Australians can access adult State-managed mental health services efficiently and effectively. Ms Spencer will also discuss the analytical approach used by the audit team to map patient journeys over time and across the WA Health system, as well as the individual interactions that mental health service users experiences.
Your attendance will not only provide an opportunity to better understand the current state of mental health care in WA, your attendances will support Australian Rotary Health. Â Australian Rotary Health is one of the largest independent funders of mental health research within Australia, providing funding into a broad range of general health areas and scholarships for rural medical and nursing students, as well as Indigenous health students. Australian Rotary Health provides funding into areas of health that do not readily attract funding, and promotes findings to the community.
Australian Rotary Health is a project of the Rotary Districts of Australia and is supported by Rotary Clubs. Â
