An inspiring site tour, documentary and panel discussion where we reimagine what life would be like if biodiversity was restored to the inner city suburbs of Perth. 🌳🌲

The afternoon will start at 5pm, with a short walking tour of Transition Town Vincent's nature hub, a circularity precinct which features Perth's first Black Cockatoo pocket forest planted by the local community in August this year. We will also explore the stage 2 planting site planned for 2026, the compost hub where we make co-composted biochar, community food forest as well as existing bushland.

At 6.30pm we will then show the documentary Making a Mini-Forest which tells the stories of different people working towards the same goal - planting mini-forests in European cities. These groups use the Miyawaki Method, a tree-planting technique that focuses on regionally native tree species, uses no chemical fertilizers or additives, planting densely, using a…
